====== System Requirements for DHD Software ====== For using DHD software like Toolbox 8, DHD Operation Manager, DHD Operation Server or the PC TFT view software we recommend a PC system with the following specifications. The software runs on every standard PC with Windows 7 or higher. The temporary data rate can be very enormous dependent on the simultaneously executed commands. Because of this, you should use a PC equipped with up-to-date hardware. ===== Prequisites ===== **Note**\\ This chapter applies to all software of DHD audio running on Microsoft Windows computers. DHD audio PC software applications are designed to run reliable, stable and safely. To ensure that, our software applications require some user rights and the host machine has to match some prerequisites. ==== Active user login ==== All software applications of DHD audio needs to be run as a logged in user on Windows. The applications are not designed to run as a service in the background. They provide an integrated interactive front end to the user for configuration, monitoring and operation. **Note**\\ This also applies to [[dhdcs:start|DHD Communication Server]] and [[os:start|DHD Operation Server]]. They are not designed to run as a backend service. ==== Administrative rights ==== DHD software applications do not require administrative rights for operation. However, during the first setup or update operations, a higher user level may be temporary requested in order to install or register additional components on the system. ===== Toolbox Software, SX2Config, DXConfig, SXConfig, DHD Communication Server ===== **Note**\\ System Requirements depend on the size of your project configuration file. **Important**\\ [{{ :installation:options_software_renderer.png?direct&250|//Options Menu, ''Use Software Rendering'' check box//}}]OpenGL 2.0-capable system is strongly recommended. \\ \\ If Views are not shown in Toolbox, OpenGL might not be available or you are using a headless server configuration. In those cases you can switch on a software rendering mode in the ''Options'' menu (''Options'' menu > ''Views'' tab > ''TFT Rendering'' area > select the ''Use Software Rendering'' check box).\\ \\ This can cause very extensive usage of processor capacity.\\ ^Minimum Operating System|Windows 7, Windows Server 2008| ^Processor|Dual core CPU with 2.0 GHz or more| ^RAM|4 GB| ^Hard disc space available for DHD software|1 GB or more available| ^Display|Minimum 1280x800 with 16-Bit colour | ===== DHD Operation Manager and DHD Operation Server ===== **Note**\\ System Requirements depend on the usage of DHDOM and project configuration file. ^Minimum Operating System|Windows 7| ^Processor|Dual core CPU with 2.0 GHz or more| ^RAM|4 GB| ^Hard disc space available for DHD software|1 GB or more available| ^Display|Minimum 1280x800 with 16-Bit colour | ===== Views App PC Software ===== **Important**\\ OpenGL 2.0-capable system is strongly recommended. If OpenGL is not available PC TFT View Software falls back into software rendering mode. This can cause very extensive usage of processor capacity. ^Minimum Operating System|Windows 7| ^Processor|Dual core CPU with 2.0 GHz or more| ^RAM|4 GB or more| ^Hard disc space available for DHD software|1 GB or more available| ^Display|Minimum 1280x800 with 16-Bit colour | ===== DHD Web Apps, AES67 Ravenna Interface Web Frontend ===== Views App in the Web requires a recent Browser, running on whatever operating system. DHD recommends using one of the following recommended browsers with at least the tested version. ^Browser^Tested Version^Remark^ |Google Chrome|73|Recommended| |Mozilla Firefox|58|Recommended| |Safari|12.1|Recommended| |Internet Explorer|11|**not recommended**| |Opera|44|Recommended with reservation| **Note**\\ JavaScript and cookies must be enabled for the web interfaces to work. **Note**\\ **Running Views App on a Raspberry Pi** Browsers on Raspberry Pi usually have no hardware acceleration for graphical drawings. Therefore, Raspberry Pi can only be recommended with reservation as an operating platform. Too many peakmeters and parallel use of touch faders and/or touch EQ TFT elements will slow the application down to a very low frame rate. For best practice, we recommend configuring a minimum of 512 mb GPU Memory on Raspbian operation system.
