Cleaning the Mixing Consoles

General Information

The cleaning of a device should be done in Off-Air mode as possible. That means the device does not handle relevant audio and/or logic signals that are integrated in the current broadcasting process.

To clean either TFTs or Control modules, in general a soft, lint-free and dry cloth is sufficient. In case of severe soiling, you can use a damp cloth and household detergent.

Important
If a damp cloth is used for cleaning, you have to switch off the DHD device and to disconnect all hot cables from it.

Important
Always “try” first on just one control module and use the cleaning solution on more modules only if there was really no damage on the first “test” module.

Warning
Never use a dripping wet cloth. In no case water and/or cleaner may enter the device, since this could lead to electric shocks and fires!

Warning
Do not use any chemical substances which would harm human skin.

Never use solvent or thinner for cleaning the surfaces. Furthermore, do not use abrasive as well as sharp objects for cleaning. You will damage the surface of the device.

Cleaning of Polyester Film based surfaces

The following information are valid for all DHD series using a Polyester Film (AUTOTEX) based control surface (RM3200D, RM2200D, RM4200D, 52/MX, 52/RX, 52/SX, 52/TX, 52/DX, SX2 and RX2).
