View Container

View Containers allow more flexibility and make configuration of your Toolbox project easier and faster. View container behave like 'TFTs in TFTs'.

To add a new View Container:

  1. In project tree, go to View Container and click Add. Enter a distinctive name and choose between Fader View and Central View. You can either choose one of the given sizes or manually enter the Width and Height you want for your View Container.
  2. Go to your added View Container in the View Container node. It looks and works similar to the <Device>/Views subsection. For more information on creating views see View Creation. The difference is that not all elements are available. For a list of available elements see Available Elements. You can add several views within one View Container. For example, if you want to create a Fader View Container, you can add new sub-views for microphones, line inputs and 5.1 inputs.
  3. Now, go to the <Device>/Views node and select the View where you want to place the Container. In the Available Elements subsection, choose Container and drag and drop it to your view.
  4. In Element Configuration, you can choose the Container Type and enter a distinctive name. If you use the View Container to create a Fader View, you need to enter the Fader Offset as well. Fader Offset is relative to the offset given each individual module within <Device>/Mixer/Console.
  5. To assign a fader view container to a channel, go to Mixer/Fader Channels and select a channel. In the Advanced tab, you can choose the default view for the selected channel.

Tip
Check out RX2 base config, 52/TX base config or SX2 Wizard config (right-click in the project tree to add) for some configuration examples.

You can use View Container for example for creating fader views for different inputs (microphones, line inputs, 5.1 etc.) or if you want to put the same elements such as a measuring section into several views. View Container also make combining fader and central views into one view easy, which is especially important for TX mixers. Below you can see a view container from the 52/TX base config and how the container is used in a view.
