Version 10.2 release notes and upgrade instructions

Firmware and Toolbox version 10.2 focus on evolving features and functionality introduced with XC3 & XD3 and version 10.1.

• Re-organized licensing:
  • 52-8594 System Upgrade License postponed for upgrades from FW 10.1.14 or higher to version 10.2
  • Introduction of License Serial instead of Micro SD Serial or SSD Serialfor licensing:
    • License Serial is shown in the System App
    • on 52-7500 XS3 Cores the License Serial will be the Wnnnnnnnnn number
    • on 52-752x XC3 Cores the License Serial will always be the serial of the factory installed MicroSD card –> the Cnnnnnnnnn number
    • on 52-755x XD3 Cores the License Serial will always be the serial of the factory installed SSD storage –> the Dnnnnnnnnn number
  • with introduction of the License Serial, licenses are always stored inside the DHD Core hardware
  • in the case of a defect of the MircoSD or SSD card, it can be easily replaced, without the need of re-licensing and re-bundling the replacement card
  • new X*3 Cores that are planned to be spare parts, should be pre-licensed in an adequate way, as swapping SD/SSD cards will not help any more from the license perspective from V10.2

• Improved AGC/Loudness AGC Freeze:
  • (L)AGC Autofreeze feature 'Freeze (L)AGC when Fader Start OFF' now also depends on the Automix (if used). This should prevent unwanted (L)AGC regulation while the channel is not used or spoken to.
  • (L)AGC Freeze key function: now supports a 3rd color to indicate that 'autofreeze' is active

• overhauled internal procedures in Logic and Audio System

• SX2 Wizard available for 52-7500 XS3 Cores

• Devices with Version 10.2 installed now automatically generate a self signed certificate for encrypted web communication
• the following pre-conditions must be met to make use of the self signed certificate:
  • no individual certificate may be installed
  • valid NTP time server must be setup & system time must be synced
  • HTTPs communication must be enabled in the System App's Services menu

As no major changes are introduced in Toolbox version 10.2, upgrading from version 10.1 to 10.2 should work by opening the existing project file within Toolbox 10.2 and checking if any messges are issued.

For a seamless transition, we recommend planning with enough spare time to convert your Toolbox project.

First of all, you need to have your Toolbox working at the latest Toolbox v10.1.x. If this condition is fulfilled, open your .dp10 project file with Toolbox v10.2.x.

You may receive some WARNING messages in the Messages Section. Those messages inform you if your Toolbox project is using no longer supported hardware, if other problems occurred or if adjustments were done during conversion of the project. A double click on the message leads you to the hardware module or part of the configuration that is subject of the message.
