Using Remote Control Views

Double click a remote view in the Remote Control branch to open the desired remote control view. For a better workflow, it is possible to open several remote control views at once in different tabs to quickly switch between them.

Which elements are shown in a remote view depends on the configuration of the view (see Creating Remote Control Views).

Note
The control elements of the remote view can be arranged in another way than the hardware interface.

Basically, all elements are working in an analogous manner as the elements of the hardware modules.

Fader Behaviour

You can move a fader up and down using drag'n'drop. You can also set special values directly:

  • Press Ctrl key and click the desired fader with the left mouse button to set the fader to 0dB.
  • Press Alt key and click the desired fader with the left mouse button to set the fader to -oodB (OFF)
  • Press Shift key and click the position you are pointing and clicking to. The fader jumps directly to this position.

Hardware Encoder Behaviour

The hardware encoders are represented in the remote control software by the following symbol: .

The functions of the encoder are split to three buttons:

  • Upper button : increment a value like turning the encoder to the right.
  • Lower button : decrement a value like turning the encoder to the left.
  • Center button : Simulate pressing the encoder.

Note
Potentiometers are not remote controllable.

Remote control tab options:

SymbolNameFunction
Zoom InIncreases the remote control view.
Zoom OutDecreases the remote control view.
Auto Adjust Window SizeIf the remote view is undocked and is displayed in a separate window, you can use this function to fit the zoom level to the size of the window.

Using remote control with DSP control software

If the device holds a DHDOM DSP Control software license and the fader strips of the remote view include Access keys, the DSP parameters of a fader channel can be displayed in a separate window. Therefore, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and click the Access button of the desired fader strip.

Tip
See DSP control - controlling parameters for more information.
